Steffy Rejects Sheila’s Love – Refuses to Believe Finn’s Mom Cares About Her

The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that one thing in particular stood out as Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) told Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) and John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) her harrowing story.

Considering everything Sheila said, we have to ask: Does Sheila really love Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) or is she just trying to score points with Finn?

Sheila talked about how hard she fought to protect Steffy from “Sugar” aka Janet Webber (Kimberlin Brown), but she couldn’t stop her vengeful lookalike from heading to the cliff house that night.

Although Sheila wanted to eliminate Steffy herself in the alley a couple years back, she claims to be a changed woman now.

With that in mind, Sheila’s attempt to defend Steffy makes sense on some level.

We can buy the idea that because Sheila loves Finn, she didn’t want him to face the pain of Steffy’s demise.

We can also buy the idea that Sheila didn’t want Hayes Forrester Finnegan (Alexander and Chase Banks) and Kelly Spencer (Sophia Paras McKinlay) to grow up without a mom, which gave her another reason to try to save Steffy.

Nevertheless, it’s a stretch to think Sheila tried to protect Steffy because she loves her, which is what Sheila insisted.

Let’s look at some of the dialogue from B&B’s May 2 episode.

“Of course I tried to protect Steffy! I love you, I love Steffy, I love the children more than I love myself,” Sheila said.

On social media, fans immediately started reacting to Sheila’s “I love Steffy” declaration with skepticism.

Not wanting Steffy to perish at Sugar’s hands is one thing, but all this talk of loving Steffy seems ridiculous based on Sheila’s past behavior.

Sheila has always considered Steffy an obstacle to the family she desperately wanted to have with Finn and Hayes, so she’s never been feeling that love until now!

It makes it seem like Sheila’s laying it on thick since she knows she’s pulling Finn closer.

Sheila has made more progress than ever thanks to this whole Sugar saga, so it’s working out in her favor so far.

However, it’ll be interesting to see what happens once Steffy comes face to face with Sheila.

Although Sheila may once again try to act like she loves her daughter-in-law, Steffy may shut that notion down pretty hard.

It’s easy to imagine Steffy rejecting Sheila’s love declaration and refusing to believe Sheila cares about her at all!
