The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that July will bring some surprising developments on the CBS soap, so we’ve got a summer sweeps preview for you. Several characters are going to land in some tight spots, so let’s talk about what’s ahead.

For starters, we know Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) has a big story coming up that’s sure to bring some passionate fan reactions.

Could that involve cheating with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) or something else?

If Adam and Chelsea do cross the line, that could push Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) straight into Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) arms.

Billy and Lily certainly seem poised to grow closer, so that could pave the way for them to hit the sheets again.

As for Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), her romance will also be affected if Adam betrays her with Chelsea.

Can Adam and Sally’s relationship survive the potential drama that’s brewing?

On another note, Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) and Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) have a fun storyline of their own coming up.

It’ll involve something unique and interesting that happens for the newly reunited pair this July.

Could this story lead to Christine and Danny’s eventual engagement?

Time will tell, but Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is sure to be irritated if she gets updates on any happy news involving Danny’s romantic connection to Christine.

Speaking of Phyllis, her own connection to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) could add to Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) struggles.

Sharon is having a hard time on her new bipolar meds and could be pushed over the edge sooner or later.

There have also been some hints about Sharon’s storyline involving some drama for Daniel Romalotti Jr.’s (Michael Graziedei) family with Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) and Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant).

Lucy and Faith Newman’s (Reylynn Caster) new friendship could play a role in the chaos that’s looming, so stay tuned to see if Sharon might spin out and cause some danger.

In Paris, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) and Alan Laurent’s (Christopher Cousins) romance will hopefully flourish while Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) tries to uncover the source of her childhood trauma in treatment.

As for Claire Grace (Hayley Erin), she’ll keep working to win Katie Abbott (Sienna Mercuri) over and will inevitably strengthen her bond with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) as well.

However, Kyle’s about to have a major blowup with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) that could make him even more inclined to help Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) go after Jabot.

Victor’s feud with Jack will soar to new heights in the coming weeks, so Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) may find herself caught in the middle of their rivalry.
